AI Hardware Systems Engineer.

Job Description

As an AI Hardware Systems Engineer, you will lead the electrical architecture and hardware engineering for ChipTalk's edge AI appliances and embodied companion micro-cores. You will oversee end-to-end hardware cycles from prototype conception and silicon platform evaluation to mass production, collaborating closely with edge AI algorithm and firmware teams to deliver high-efficiency, reliable hardware foundations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead system schematics, component selection, and high-speed layout reviews for edge AI compute boards and embodied micro-cores (e.g., LYA core series)
• Architect low-power PMIC subsystems, high-speed interfaces (MIPI, PCIe, LPDDR4/5, SerDes), and wireless RF subsystems (Wi-Fi 6, BLE 5.4, Cellular IoT) with rigorous SI/PI simulation
• Perform board bring-up, timing analysis, and hardware troubleshooting across heterogeneous SoC platforms (ESP32-S3, Rockchip RK3588/RK3576, Nordic nRF5340, Jieli)
• Establish EVT/DVT/PVT hardware validation standards and drive global compliance certifications (FCC, CE, SRRC, GB6675, EN71)
• Partner with thermal and mechanical engineers to achieve stringent thermal limits (≤38°C surface temp) and drop-resistance reliability

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Hardware, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in high-speed digital circuit design or embedded hardware engineering with mass-produced product track records
• Proficient in Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or equivalent EDA suites; solid expertise in HDI and high-speed signal integrity
• Skilled in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for deep hardware diagnosis
• Strong understanding of edge AI accelerators or SoC platforms; experience in NPU boards, smart wearables, or robotics is a plus
• Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership mindset
