Interactive smart plush toy with voice recognition.
A leading educational toy brand seeking to create an interactive, cost-effective companion.
Integrating voice recognition and playback in a plush form factor without overheating or requiring frequent charging, while keeping the BOM cost under $15.
We chose the Jieli AC692x SoC, an ultra-low-cost, highly integrated Bluetooth audio chip. It features a 32-bit RISC MCU and built-in audio DSP. Power is supplied by a 1200mAh Li-ion cell.
Instead of running LLMs locally, the AC692x acts as an audio gateway. We implemented a custom FreeRTOS firmware to capture audio via a single MEMS mic, compress it using SBC/Opus, and transmit it via BLE to a parent's smartphone, which handles the heavy AI processing in the cloud.
Battery lasts up to 14 days on standby and 8 hours in active conversation mode. Meets ASTM F963 thermal requirements. BOM cost strictly maintained at $12.50.
