Product Concept & Architecture
The Nordic nRF9160 LTE-M SiP reads an internal MAX31875 digital temperature sensor and supports an external PT100 RTD probe. A 19Ah Li-SOCl2 D-cell provides 3-year standby life.
Engineering Solution
The Zephyr RTOS firmware samples temperature every 10 seconds. A running Mean Kinetic Temperature (MKT) calculation per USP standards is updated on each sample. The predictive spoilage model estimates remaining vaccine shelf life at current temperature using Arrhenius equation coefficients.
