Temperature-controlled mug responsive to voice.

A lifestyle brand developing a temperature-controlled ceramic mug with smart home voice integration.
Fitting a Wi-Fi MCU, a battery management system (BMS), and a high-power heating element into the waterproof base of a ceramic mug.
The ESP32-C3 (RISC-V, Wi-Fi/BLE) was chosen for its excellent thermal efficiency and small QFN package. It controls a custom MOSFET array driving a 24W Kapton polyimide heater.
We designed a custom 4-layer circular PCB. The ESP32-C3 monitors a high-precision NTC thermistor using its internal ADC. We implemented a PID control loop in FreeRTOS to maintain liquid temperature exactly at the user's setpoint without overshooting. The Wi-Fi connects to an AWS IoT backend for Alexa/Google Home voice control.
Maintains liquid at 135°F for 1.5 hours on battery. IPX7 waterproof (fully washable). PID algorithm keeps temperature within ±1°F.
Let's discuss how ChipTalk can deliver results for your next project.
