LTE-M medical patch for elderly patients that tracks vitals and detects falls without a smartphone.

A digital health company providing remote patient monitoring solutions for elderly adults living independently, without requiring a smartphone or home Wi-Fi.
Creating a wearable patch that provides continuous vital sign monitoring and automatic fall detection with direct cellular connectivity, in a form factor comfortable for 24/7 wear.
The Nordic nRF9160 SiP provides LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular connectivity and application processing. A BMI270 IMU detects motion and falls. A MAX30102 PPG sensor measures heart rate and SpO2. The device is IP67-rated and charges via contactless pogo pins.
The Zephyr RTOS firmware implements a dual-stage fall detection pipeline: first, the BMI270's built-in step detector and significant-motion interrupt wakes the nRF9160 from deep sleep. Second, a TinyML random forest classifier on the Cortex-M33 analyzes the IMU 1-second window pre/post trigger to distinguish true falls from false triggers. On confirmed fall, the device sends an LTE-M alert with GPS coordinates within 5 seconds.
97% fall detection sensitivity, <2% false positive rate. 14-day battery life. CE marked as Class IIa medical device.
